_Students will know:
1. Vocabulary related to the novel 2. Basic cultural information about Costa Rica 3. That verb endings change based on the subject - regardless of tense 4. That some verbs are regular & some are irregular in Spanish 5. That preterite tense & imperfect tense are two different ways to express past tense in Spanish 6. That certain words or phrases can determine which past tense is used |
Students will be able to:
1. Identify vocabulary related to the novel 2. Read, understand, and give opinions about the novel ~ using vocabulary & grammar from the novel 3. Compare & contrast basic information about Costa Rica’s culture 4. Identify & recognize stem-changing verbs (basement verbs) in the preterite tense 5. Identify & recognize irregular preterite tense verbs 6. Explain what imperfect tense is 7. Identify & recognize verbs in the imperfect tense 8. Begin to classify when preterite and imperfect can be used |
